Dr. Jamie Sanks
Lead Pastor

 

Dr. Jamie Sanks was born in Ft. Mitchell, Alabama. He moved to Columbus, Georgia at the age of five, where he still resides. He graduated from Hardaway High School (the best high school in Columbus, GA) in 1987 and left to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps.
 
After his time in the Marine Corps, he worked as a welder at Worthington Cylinders until 1995. He met the Lord Jesus Christ who radically changed his life in 1996. God called him to the ministry and led him to New Revival Baptist Church. Dr. Sanks served this church as both Assistant Pastor and Superintendent
of the Sunday School. He went on to join Edgewood Baptist Church in Columbus, GA in 1999, where he eventually was ordained into the ministry in 2005.

He attended Columbus State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s in Business Administration (in 2000) with majors in both management and marketing. He went on to earn a Master of Science in Management from Troy University in 2002. Dr. Sanks also earned the following degrees from Beacon University: A Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership in 2004, a Master of Divinity in Organizational Leadership in 2005, and a Doctor of Ministry degree in 2007. He went on to earn the following degrees from Liberty University: a Master of Divinity in Theology with Distinction in 2015, a Master of Education: Teaching and Learning-History in 2019 and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling in 2021.
 
Dr. Sanks served Beacon University as Dean of Admission and Recruitment from June of 2004 until May 2006. He started both departments from scratch, where he achieved the highest enrollment in the history of the university. He also served Beacon as a professor of biblical studies for approximately two years. He was also an adjunct professor for the University of Phoenix for several years. He served for
about twelve years as a substitute teacher for Muscogee County School District. He also worked for Aflac for 3 ½ years.
 
Currently, Dr. Sanks serves as the Lead Pastor for The House of God (the church he planted from scratch in his living room) in Midland, GA. He has been pastoring this church plant for fifteen years. He is also the President and Chairman of the Board of Advisors for Bright Destiny Learning Center, the President and a trustee of Bright Destiny, Inc., and he currently serves as an adjunct professor for New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS).
 
He and his lovely wife, Chenita, (who he calls the most beautiful woman in the world) have been happily married for twenty-two years, and they have four fine sons: Donquize, Cordarrell, Jammie Jr., and Joshua. His passions are reading and studying the Bible, teaching the Bible, and writing for the Lord. His
favorite Scriptures are 1 John 4:7-8, Philippians 2:3-4, and Matthew 6:33.

Chenita Sanks, Ph.D
Director of Christian Education
 

Dr. Chenita Sanks is a native of Columbus, Georgia. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1996.
She received her B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Columbus State University in 2002, her Master
of Education in Instructional Technology from Troy State University in 2003, her Ed.S.in Elementary
Education from Troy University in 2005, her add-on in Educational Leadership from Troy University in
2006, and her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Mercer University in 2009. She also earned an
M.Div. in Theological Studies from Liberty University in 2017.
 
She currently works for Muscogee County School District as a full-time certified teacher. She has twenty
years of experience in this capacity. She also serves as Director of Christian Education at The House of
God and is the Vice President and Executive Director and a tutor for Bright Destiny Learning Center. She
is the Vice President and a trustee for Bright Destiny, Inc. Additionally, she served as an adjunct
professor at Columbus State University. She is the wife of Pastor Jamie Sanks, who she married in
February 2000, and is a proud stepmother of four fine stepsons: Donquize, Cordarrell, Jammie, Jr., and
Joshua.


At the age of fourteen, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and has been serving Him for 30
years. Her passion is educating the next generation to be Christ-ready, College-ready, and Career-ready,
as well as training disciples for Christ from the little ones to the big ones. Her favorite Scriptures are
Psalm 23, Psalm 34, Psalm 37, Philippians 2:3-4, Romans 8, and Galatians 2:20.

Dawn Kennedy

Dawn Kennedy received an MA in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2013 and a BA in Biblical Studies from Beacon University in 2007. Dawn has also served in the community via New Horizons, Columbus Christian Counseling, and Damascus Way. Since 2014, Dawn has worked as a counselor assisting troubled youth and in 2021 married the love of her life, John Kennedy. All glory to
God!

Shavonne A. Campbell

Shavonne Campbell accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 16 and was baptized by water. She grew up primarily attending Baptist churches. Throughout her adolescence, she grew a hunger and thirst to experience and come to the knowledge of what knowing the Lord Jesus was really about. From there she continued to attend church and had the opportunity to go on mission trips while she was in college. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design in 2010 from Georgia Southern University. She felt a calling to be a missionary and went on a mission trip to Yellowstone National Park. She also went on a mission trip to Pittsburgh, PA and to New Orleans, LA. Shavonne is currently married to her husband Clifton Campbell. Her hobbies include visual arts, creating wreaths, traveling, and using her gifts to further the kingdom of God. Now as the Digital Media Assistant, she is open to how the Lord will use her so that the House of God ministries and Bright Destiny Education will continue to flourish into the ministry that God has destined.
